In early March, I went to Costa Rica with my family. We saw a lot of birds. Some of the birds were: woodpeckers, hummingbirds, parrots, storks, magpie jays, toucans, and quetzals. The quetzals and toucans were hard to find. We found them, because we had a guide. The woodpeckers and hummingbirds were easier to find. The woodpeckers were nesting. To build a nest, they peck a hole in a tree, which makes a lot of noise. We mainly saw the hummingbirds at hummingbird feeders. There were a lot of feeders, so we saw hummingbirds more than any other kind of bird. My favorite was the Resplendent Quetzal. This is one of the rarest birds in Costa Rica. It’s found in the cloud forest. We saw it in the cloud forest of Monteverde. I liked seeing the quetzals, because they are really colorful. I also liked seeing the toucans because they look ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
