We have decided to add something new to the magazine: a monthly spotlight poem/poet! By featuring the works of poets around the world, we are aiming to showcase different cultures and societal views, as well as writing styles. If you think of a poem/poet that you’d like us to feature, please email us at belmontkidsmagazine@gmail.com. (If the poem is in a different language, it would be best if you could provide an accompanying translation.) We hope that you are inspired to write more poetry!
ORIGINAL:
黎玉娇 10岁 指导教师:李婷
星星跑步
不小心撞倒了月亮
月亮掉下来
刚好落在我手上
亮亮的
从此我手上
有了月光
TRANSLATION:
Li Yujiao, 10 years old, Instructor: Li Ting
Stars run
But they knock the moon down
The moon falls
Right into my palms
Shining brightly
From now on, my hands
Glow with moonlight
